Nine in the Afternoon

Time works differently in college.  I don't know what your college experience was like, but here's a little bit of mine:

8:30 AMAlarm goes off
9:10 AM Get out of bed
9:30 AMBe somewhere on campus
1 PM: Lunch
2 PMbe somewhere else on campus
5:15 PM Dinner
6 PM be somewhere, do homework, maybe get a chance to breathe
9PMlate night dining
10 PMbe at a club meeting, do homework (if there's class the next day), or hang out with people.
1AMlose interest in what I'm doing, go back to your room and waste time on the internet, watching tv, and/or playing video games
2AMdecide it's time to shower
2:30AMshower
3AMget into bed

As you can see, I'm up for a long time.  Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about homework or doing stuff, I love college.  I just don't understand how when I'm at home for the weekend, I live more of an 8AM-11PM life.  With people around, I understand, but even when no one's around, I can't seem to get to bed before 2AM at school.

So when Panic At The Disco came out with their new song, "Nine in the Afternoon," I didn't give it a second thought.  But now that I do think about it, it makes perfect sense.  My day still has another 6 hours to go at 9PM.  For many people, 6 hours before bed is the afternoon.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have another hour of homework to do.
